Introduction OF SPS (XAREC™) for Alloy Application

This material proposal explains how SPS can be used as an alloy component with other resins to provide low water absorption, low specific gravity, chemical resistance, and favorable electrical and dielectric properties.

The first half summarizes the key characteristics of SPS derived from its crystalline structure, including heat resistance, chemical resistance, low water absorption, low specific gravity, and electrical/dielectric properties. The second half discusses alloy design concepts and application examples with matrix resins such as PA66, PPS, PET/PEN, PC, aromatic polyamide, LCP, PPE, PS, and ABS. In particular, PA/SPS alloys are presented as a way to improve low density, low water absorption, dimensional stability, and hot-water resistance.
